Analysing Music Vedios

Ghetto Gospel- Tu Pack F.t Elton John.
this music video is just under 4 and a half minuets long, its involves a black American youth that gets caught up in a drive by shooting. Its high impact and emotional.
i analysed different sections of the video
The video is in reverse you see the reaction of the shooting then see the story behind it.

This is a close up shot, of the mothers reaction, it's so emotive, the sirens are sounding coming from the surrounding emergency services and the screams and cries of her crying.

This contradicts the stereotype that young parents are bad parents. But also shows that although this guy is involved in gang culture, he is still a family man and he still has a family.

This is a cut away shot, because the main focal point is the father and son but the mother is closer to us in the frame.

In this screen shot you see the gang, they are buying drugs of the women on the far right. This low shot is used so you feel like the gang has power and that if you bumped into them you'd feel intimidated.

I also looked at Beautiful- Christina Aguilera this video contains sensitive subjects and is about acceptance in society and how no one should ever feel ashamed to be themselves.

This is one of the first pictures in the montage that is shown in the video, i think it is a very strong and powerful image. And in refection with my coursework could be a stereotype of what media infulences are doing to teenagers.

the cut in point of veiw shot is clever makes you feel empathy seeing what this young girl thinks of therself and seeing what she sees when she looks in the mirror.

Christina is sitting what looks like a dark and damp swat with the windows blackedout with newspaper. I think this was done to show that there is no fancy set is needed because the stengeth of the message across from the song.

There are varations in the shots christaina is in there are extreeme close ups where you can see the tears rolling and there are some wide shots where you can see all of her and her surroundings.

this is towards the end of the video, and is the final stwaw her she just punches the mirrior. i think this is symbolic that this is what she wants do to the society that made her this way.

The wide shot shows the room in where the girl stands it is an adverage teenage girls room and that makes this really relateable.
