Soap Operas; Inside Story

The term soap opera originated in the 1930’s, when US radio serials where sponsored by major soap powder companies.

Television soap operas run in a serial format, in which narratives are carried from one episode to the next. Soap operas famously finish with a cliff-hanger at the end to incise you into watching the next instalment.

Many people watch them religiously as they are strategically scheduled to be on just as people are theoretically finishing diner. And most content is suitable for all ages. As there is no use of bad language as the main soap operas are on before the watershed.
